Asia is perhaps the friendliest of all the continents on the earth. Being home to a multitude of culture, religion, stories, and myths – each of the Asian countries renders a unique style of living and custom.

For instance, if you are looking for a hi-fi style of living, Asian countries like Japan is the best. Sightseeing options are aplenty in Asia, the evidences of which are awesome attractions of Thailand and Singapore. Equally worth mentioning are Asian countries such as India and China that abound in rich history as well as amazing attractions. Also, of great significance are specialties of nations like Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

Many of these nations not only provide umpteen options for business and commerce but also for education and employment. Further, one of the greatest things regarding the Asian countries is that their cuisines are diverse and sumptuously incredible. In contrast to other continents such as America and Europe, the cost of living in Asia is exceptionally low and accommodation options are superb.

Above all, majority of the Asian countries are safe places to live, an example for which is destinations such as Hong Kong. Hence, no wonder why people including westerners consider living in Asia as a great experience. Nowadays, many foreigners, especially Americans, even prefer Asian nations to spend their life after retirement.

Accommodation opportunities are fabulous in Asia, with a plenty of options to choose from including single detached homes, budget villas and homes, luxury apartments, and gated communities with a host of facilities and amenities. However, in recent years, condominiums, otherwise, condos have become a much preferred accommodation option among both the residents and travelers to Asia.

In addition, since many of the Asian nations have loosened the governmental laws regarding this accommodation type, condos have now become an everyday word. This in turn has boosted the sale of condos in Asia, particularly in countries like Singapore, China, and Hong Kong. Condominiums in Asia are simply a category of private property, whose some portions are individually owned while others are jointly owned. In other words, condos are a type of private property with joint ownership.

Living in an Asian condominium is truly an amazing experience, since many of them are within close proximity to almost all top attractions of the place. Depending upon your lifestyle, budget, personal tastes, and preferences, condominiums in Asia come in a variety of forms, such as, apartment, townhouse, and single detached structure. No matter you have chosen which type of condos, they are mostly attached with features like relaxed bedrooms with adjustable beds, expansive living rooms with sofas, fully equipped kitchen, eco-friendly areas, and ironing boards.

Some of the condominiums even come graced with top-rated furniture and equipments. Specialties of condominium units also cover the common features it share, such as, parking facilities, areas exclusively for kids, game rooms, passageways, escalators, and well-manicured gardens that are ideal for a relaxed stroll. Some of the luxurious condominium complexes in Asia come with high-end facilities like meeting rooms attached with sophisticated equipments, sauna and spa facilities, and fitness rooms.

Owning a condominium in any of the Asian countries renders scores of benefits. Affordability is one of the main benefits of condo units. As there are a large number of people, apart from state of the art security monitoring system, security is guaranteed in these units. Access to common facilities like pool, library, and elevators, and low interior and exterior maintenance fee are the other benefits of owning a condominium in Asia. Also, buying a condo unit in Asia serves as an excellent long term investment, yielding huge profits. Apart from these, living in a condominium in Asia enables you to be a part of a unique community.

Despite the facilities and benefits condos offer, there are certain things to be taken into consideration while choosing condominiums as your accommodation option. Since condo units are governed by condominium association, it must be checked whether the rules and regulations formulated by them are flexible. For instance, there are certain condo communities imposing restrictions on the usage of the pets. Also, considered for living in a condominium in Asia are factors such as condominium interior and outdoor maintenance fee, neighborhood, and parking area.

With a plethora of real estate agencies and property builders, renting or buying a condo unit in Asia is not at all a chaotic process. Many of them offer superb facilities, and some of them even provide facilities to ease buying procedures associated with the owning of condominiums. The internet also serves as one of the most popular way to search and own a condo unit of your choice, since many of the realtors and other service providers have their own sites on the web with pictures and prices of properties.

Located about 150 km south east of Bangkok and lying along the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya is perhaps the most wonderful island in Thailand. With its picturesque surroundings comprising incredible beaches, city-like dining, vibrant nightlife, and excellent shopping facilities, living in Pattaya is regarded as living in paradise.

Inspired by the amazing beauty and highly sophisticated infrastructure of the island, many foreigners, including Americans and Europeans, have chosen this destination to spend their life after retirement. A host of other benefits are also derived from living in Pattaya. The main is that Pattaya provides an excellent lifestyle and that too on a small budget. Another great benefit is safety, since the crime rates are comparatively low in contrast to other destinations. Above all, Pattaya boasts of a salubrious climate year-round.

No matter your choice is apartment, single detached house, villa, or bungalow, Pattaya has a plenty of accommodation options. Since Pattaya has now become a much favored destination among foreigners, condominium units are of special demand here. Further, the Thai government does not impose any kind of restrictions on foreigners to own a condo unit in Pattaya, except for some requirements to be met under the Condominium Act (1979), such as bringing in 100% of funds for the purchase of condo unit in foreign currency and recording of it by a Thai bank on a Foreign Exchange Transaction Form (FETF), which in turn is considered an evidence to submit it to the Land Department.

Many condominium units around the prime areas of Pattaya, such as Wong Amat beach, Jomtien beach, and Bang Saray and Tawanron beach, are sold out even before the completion of their construction. The demand for Pattaya condominiums is further driven by factors such as low interest rates and a weak Thai Baht.

Depending upon your budget, lifestyle, preference, and number of family members, a variety of condominium units are now available in Pattaya, ranging from budget and luxury to single and multi-roomed. Pattaya condominiums come in a myriad of forms, including, townhouse, apartment, and sometimes even as a single detached structure. Let it be of any type or size, a condominium complex in Pattaya is mostly replete with amenities such as high-end bedrooms coupled with comfortable beds, expansive living rooms, fully equipped kitchen, most modern bath area with uninterrupted water supply, and eco-friendly areas.

Some of the most popular condominium units come attached with most sophisticated facilities such as game rooms, laundry facilities, whirlpool spas and saunas, pools, meeting rooms, and parking areas. There are also certain condominium complexes attached with facilities such as game rooms coupled with tennis courts and gym.

Further, purchasing a condo unit in Pattaya provides a continuum of benefits. One of the greatest advantages of living in a condominium in Pattaya is that it allows you to live in a well managed community. Security is another great benefit of Pattaya condominiums, as there are a large number of people.

Other benefits of living in a condominium in Pattaya are low interior as well as exterior maintenance costs and access to common facilities such as library, elevators, and swimming pools. Also, buying a condo unit in Pattaya serves as an excellent long term investment, yielding huge profits. However, the price of condominium units is exceptionally high when compared to other accommodations options such as houses and villas.

Prior to choosing condominiums as your accommodation alternative, certain things have to be taken into consideration. As condo units are mostly governed by condominium association, it must be checked whether the rules and regulations put forward by them are flexible. For instance, there are certain condo communities imposing restrictions on the usage of the pets. Other matters such as condominium interior and outdoor maintenance fee, neighborhood, and parking area must also be considered for living in a condominium in Asia.

Buying or renting a condominium in Pattaya is no longer a tedious process, since a multitude of property builders, consultants, and real estate firms as well as realtors are in the scenario to render best services. Since many of them have them have their own sites on the web, with details including expected price, amenities available and pictures of the condominium, it allows for convenient purchasing of a condominium.

Imagine a healthy, green backyard garden: perfect for lounging, great for ball games and barbecues, a real asset to your home. But did you know that your bakyard garden, and how you take care of it, can also help the environment?

Healthy grass provides feeding ground for birds, who find it a rich source of insects, worms, and other food. Thick grass prevents soil erosion, filters contaminants from rainwater, and absorbs many types of airborne pollutants, like dust and soot. Grass is also highly efficient at converting carbon dioxide to oxygen, a process that helps clean the air.

Caring for your bakyard garden properly can both enhance its appearance and contribute to its environmental benefits.

Your backyard garden can be tough but you don’t have to be an expert to grow a healthy backyard garden. Just keep in mind that the secret is to work with nature. This means creating conditions for grass to thrive and resist damage from weeds, disease, and insect pests.

It means setting realistic goals for your backyard garden, whether you or a professional garden or lawn care service will be doing the work. And if you choose to use pesticides, it means using them with care so as to get the most benefit and reduce any risks.

Let’s talk a little about organic gardening. We will discuss the term “Organic” in a gardening context, it might be a useful start to define exactly what that means, so here it is, “Organic gardening is the way of growing vegetables and fruits with the use of things only found in nature”. Really simple isn’t it, but most certainly not commonplace any more in today’s world I suggest.

Having led up to all of that, a good question might arise as to exactly why you would want to indulge in organic gardening as such! Well, as the title of this articles suggests, here are six good reasons why you should do so, in my opinion at any rate.

1. You can easily make compost from garden and kitchen waste, alhough this is a bit more time consuming than buying prepared chemical pesticides and fertilizers. However it certainly helps to put garbage to good use, and so helps the environment.

2. Organic farming does not use chemicals that may have an adverse affect on your health, which is especially important when growing vegetables. The chemical companies do tell us that the chemicals we use are safe, provided that they are used according to direction. Research has shown however that even tiny amounts of poisons absorbed through the skin can cause such things as cancer, especially in children. Quite a sobering thought is it not!

On average, a child ingests four to five times more cancer-causing pesticides from foods than an adult, which could lead to various diseases later on in the child’s life. Remember, pesticides contain toxins that have only one purpose, which is to kill living things!

With organic gardening, these incidents are lessened.

3. Less harm is caused to the environment, because poisons are not washed into our waterways to give but one example, causing death to the native fish and polluting their habitat in most cases.

4. Organic farming practices also help prevent the loss of topsoil through erosion. The Soil Conservation Service says that an estimated 30 – 32 billion tons of soil is eroded from United States farmlands every year, and that’s only one country.

4. Cost savings, because you do not need to buy costly chemical fertilizers and pesticides with organic gardening. Many organic recipes for the control of pest and disease come straight from the kitchen cupboard, and sometimes other plants can even be grown as companions to the main crop. One example of this is the marigold, which helps to repel aphids from vegetables.

Mixing 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap, and 1 cup of cooking oil, can make a cheap garden pest spray for example. Put 3 tablespoons of this mixture in 1 quart of water and spray on to your plants. You will find this to be very effective!

5. A simple mulch of pine needles will help to suppress the growth of weeds, as well as keeping the moisture in. Another simple and much safer solution!

6. Organic gardening practices are much more likely to help keep the environment safe for future generations, and all of us who are responsible ciitizens, should always bear this in mind

The whole subject which is part of an on going worldwide debate, is far too complex to cover in such a short article, but I do hope that at least I have left you with some food for thought.

Imagine the overall benefits to be had in our environment, by many people undertaking even some small changes.

Caring for your bakyard garden in an environmentally sensible way can have a bigger impact than you might think. Your backyard garden is only a small piece of land, but all the bakyard gardens across the country cover a lot of ground.

That means you and your backyard garden care activities, along with everyone else’s, can make a difference to the environment. And that’s why taking care of the environment begins in our own backyards.

SUSTAINABLE FARMING OF FLOWERS IN THE PHILIPPINES
Flower Depot Inc. www.myflowerdepot.com

Our goal is to tread lightly on the planet. We are mindful of the acts we do in our Philippine Flower Farm, knowing that each act of tilling, growing, harvesting and packaging, can do damage or save the planet. One of the most concrete steps we do this is through implementing sustainable agriculture. When we grow or harvest our Philippine flowers, we remove some nutrients from the soil. If we do not replenish these, the land suffers and we can no longer use the soil for farming. Sustainable agriculture means replenishing the soil while minimizing the use of non-renewable resources, such as natural gas or mineral ores. We engage in concrete steps to ensure that our Philippine Flower Farm produces flowers indefinitely, without causing irreversible damage to the health of an ecosystem. This would entail redefining our practices and processes on the soil, to produce Philippines flowers and foliage that are not only profitable but also healthy. The second is socio-economic, where we enhance the quality of life of our farm workers.

Sustainable Crop Production Utilizing Native Methods

We have been fortunate to work with and among Philippine indigenous tribes or natives. They have worked with us imparting the wisdom and heritage of their ancestors on Philippine flower farming. These include sustainable farming techniques that rely on natural methods handed down from generation to generation by the Talaandigs; the Higaonon; and Bukidnon farmers. Alongside their wealth of knowledge on natural methods, we have merged technology and science, to implement agricultural techniques that build our Philippine flower farm’s soil fertility, while protecting our air, water and wildlife. We have merged and developed a deeply rooted natural system of production, pest management, and weed and fungal control. Among these:

o    We practice natural methods on cover cropping, composting, and crop rotation;
o    We use nitrogen-fixing and leguminous plants that are native to our farm, that form symbioses with nitrogen-fixing bacteria called rhizobia.  These are plants that modern farming would have otherwise deemed as weeds.  The natives have taught us to use these plants as a viable source of fertilizer;
o    Our farm has learned to rely on natural controls for soil-borne diseases and to ward off pests.  Among these, we use natural insect traps, neem tree extract and beneficial bacteria and fungi to treat our soil;
o We hope to eliminate the use of toxic and persistent chemicals found in industrial pesticides and herbicides. That way, we control pests and diseases with the least environmental impact, phasing in organic products over time; and
o We have learned to follow the cycles and phases of the moon in scheduling our pest management and control, taking into account that the life cycles of these creatures that coincide with the moon’s phases.

We embrace these practices in our Philippine Flower Farm and adopt them in our daily tilling, growing or harvesting. By relying on the knowledge handed by those whom we believe are most in tune with nature and the earth, we build healthy and rich soils to produce Philippines flowers and plants that are healthy and thriving.

Resource Conservation and Energy Efficiency

Our Philippine Flower Farm encourages careful water use, energy saving initiatives, greenhouse gas emission reduction efforts and product packaging minimization.

o    Our Philippine Flower Farm infrastructure has been planned and built bearing in mind our carbon footprint.  Our greenhouses are built using renewable resources or recycled material.  Among these are bamboo, wooden pegs, stones, old tires, and similar materials;
o    We have designed and positioned our greenhouses to ensure that we use the least amount of energy for our crops.  Our buildings use natural ventilation, and rely on the strength or gentleness of winds for its natural ventilation.  Thus, we eliminate the need for energy-powered fans;
o    We rely on the forces of gravity for our irrigation, taking advantage of the gift of natural spring water, and use trickle-irrigation to conserve water and prevent erosion;
o Our irrigation systems do not use more water from the natural spring than is naturally replenished; and
o Our greenhouses are designed so we can harvest and utilize rainwater to irrigate our plants and treat our Philippine flowers.

Waste Management

o    We wish to have minimal or zero waste on our Flower Farm and encourage composting and recycling of our agricultural and non-agricultural wastes;
o We recycle crop waste, weeds, twigs (almost everything!) and livestock manure for composting; and
o Packaging materials to send flowers to the Philippines nationwide are recycled and reused over time.

Protecting Ecosystems In and Around the Farm

Because of our efforts to use natural methods and products, and our minimal use of heavy equipment or machinery, we protect the ecosystems around the Philippine Flower Farm such as rivers and streams.

Taking Care of our People

Our Philippine Flower Farm prides itself in ensuring a safe, equitable and healthy work environment. We provide our workers with access to the principal needs. We also support our farmers and their local community through preferential hiring, purchasing, infrastructure improvements and community problem solving.

Each Flower Depot bouquet is hand selected, carefully arranged, and shipped fresh from our Philippine Flower Farm, with the dedication and commitment to wholly move our farm from traditional and commercial practices to sustainable farming. We hope to transition to a sustainable, organic or biodynamic agriculture in the future. Our ultimate goal is to protect our environment and also enhance the lives of our workers, as they are free from unhealthy and toxic pesticides. By practicing sustainable farming, we hope to build a better and more sustainable future, and lighten our footsteps on the planet.

A kitchen would be a pretty useless room without the appropriate appliances. Ovens, hobs, microwaves and smaller appliances such as kettles and toasters are often taken for granted but without them cooking would be reduced to an open fire. These appliances are made to make our lives easier but they use up plenty of energy which can potentially increase your energy bill and your carbon footprint.

Efficiency

If you’re thinking of upgrading your appliances and want to make an environmentally sound choice then check to see if the appliance is an Energy Saving Recommended product. These products will have a logo on them which shows that they are more energy efficient than regular appliances. Fridges and freezers in particular can use a significant amount of energy as they are in action 24 hours a day. If your budget is tight and you can’t afford to replace all your appliances with their energy saving counterparts then make your fridge or freezer your first choice. Energy efficient washing machines and tumble dryers are amongst the many other appliances which are specifically designed to save energy. When the weather’s nice though, you can cut back your energy use further by drying clothes outdoors.

Usage

Blenders, slow cookers and bread makers are amongst the many items which are often bought but are rarely used. Items like these are only worth purchasing if you actually use them so consider how much use you’ll get from the appliances before you purchase them. Kitchen appliances like these take energy and natural resources to make so if you’re not going to get your money’s worth from them then leave them in the shop.

Switch off

Leaving appliances on standby is a well known energy waster so take the time to unplug washing machines, dishwashers and dryers when they’re not in use. Appliances such as coffee machines can be left on for hours keeping your coffee warm but also costing you money by using energy. Make just the one cup and switch the machine off when you’ve finished with it, coffee always tastes better when it’s freshly brewed anyway.

Clever cooking

If you really want to cut back on your energy spend then think about how you cook your meals. Is the oven left on for hours cooking a casserole or jacket potato? Do you have all the hobs blazing away long after the food in the pans is cooked? Using the microwave to cook items which take a long time in the oven is one way to cut down on the energy you use. Make sure as soon as your food is ready, you switch off your appliances so you don’t use energy unwisely.

Water wastage

A quick way to reduce the amount of water and heat you use is to only fill the kettle with the amount of water required and the same goes for boiling water in pans on the hob. Make sure your dishwasher and washing machine are full before you switch them on and this will save you money in detergent as well.

Save money and do your bit to reduce your household carbon footprint with these energy saving tips.

Imagine a well, green plot: complete for lounging, great for sphere games and barbecues, a very asset to your home. Nevertheless did you know that your bakyard plot, and how you take heed of it, can also help the environment?

Healthy meadow provides feeding ground for birds, who find it a fertile fund of insects, worms, and other food. Thick grassland prevents soil corrosion, filters contaminants from rainfall, and absorbs many types of airborne pollutants, like dust and filth. Grass is also highly able at converting carbon dioxide to oxygen, a treat that helps virtuous the air.

Caring for your bakyard plot well can both enhance its appearance and contribute to its environmental profit.

Your patch can be tough but you don’t have to be an authority to grow a healthful patch backyard. Just keep in heed that the private is to work with makeup. This means creating conditions for grass to thrive and resist injury from weeds, disease, and insect mice.

It means situation realistic goals for your backyard patch, whether you or a professional backyard or lawn anxiety rite will be burden the work. And if you elect to use pesticides, it means with them with thought to get the most profit and diminish any risks.

Let’s converse a little about organic farming. We will confer the period “Organic” in a farming milieu, it might be a practical pioneer to name precisely what that means, so here it is, “Organic farming is the way of rising vegetables and fruits with the use of gear only found in kind.” Really minimal isn’t it, but most surely not commonplace any more in today’s world I intimate.

Having led up to all that, a good query might surface as to just why you would want to indulge in organic farming as such! Well, as the award of the articles suggests, here are six good reasons you should do so, in my attitude at any evaluate.

You can surely make droppings from plot and kitchen leftover, alhough this is a bit more time-consuming than trade arranged element pesticides and fertilizers. However it certainly helps to put trivia to good use, and so helps the environment. Organic farming does not use chemicals that may have an adverse imitate on your wellbeing, which is especially important when budding vegetables. The substance companies do tell us that the chemicals we use are harmless, if they are used according to target. Research has exposed however that even tiny amounts of poisons absorbed through the skin can source such equipment as bane, especially in children. Quite a sobering thought is it not! On average, a teen ingests four to five times more bane-causing pesticides from foods than an adult, which could conduct to numerous diseases later in the teen’s life. Remember, pesticides confine toxins that have only one point, which is to eradicate living equipment!

With organic gardening, these incidents are lessened.

Less harm is caused to the environment, because poisons are not washed into our waterways to give but one example, causing fall to the native fish and polluting their territory in most bags. Organic farming practices also help avoid the shortfall of dust through attrition. The Soil Conservation Serviced says that an estimated 30 – 32 billion tons of soil is wrinkled from United States farmlands every year, and that’s only one country. Cost savings, because you do not require to buy costly chemical fertilizers and pesticides with organic gardening. Many organic recipes for the restraint of vermin and disease come shipshape from the kitchen cupboard, and sometimes other plants can even be developed as companions to the foremost crop. For example, the marigold, which helps to resist aphids from vegetables. Mixing 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap, and 1 cup of cooking oil, can make a shameful patch mosquito spray for example. Put 3 tablespoons of this mixture in 1 quart of water and spray onto your plants. You will find this to be very operative!

An unfussy mulch of pout needles will help to suppress the lump of weeds, as well as keeping the moisture in. Another simple and much safer emulsion! Organic gardening practices are much more probable to help keep the environment nontoxic for future generations, and all of us who are responsible ciitizens, should always bring this in mind The totality subject which is part of an on open worldwide ponder, is far too neurosis to conceal in such a fleeting article, but I do prospect that at slightest I have left you with some food for thought.

Imagine the whole profit to be had in our environment, by many people undertaking even some small changes.

Caring for your bakyard garden in an environmentally sane way can have a bigger effect than you might think. Your backyard gardened is only a small piece of land, but all the bakyard gardens across the country wrapping a lot of ground.

That means you and your backyard garden trouble activities, along with everyone else’s, can make a difference to the environment. And that’s why charming care of the environment begins in our own backyards.

As presented by 20th Century spiritual scientist, Rudolf Steiner, the leading edge of spiritual and social evolution has followed a westward moving progression – India, Persia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Europe, now America. (And, according to Steiner, will eventually move on to a future, transformed, Russia.)
The term “America” – as used in this article – is not at all about the nationalist concept that residents of the United States and the modern world hold to at present (may nationalism pass on, and human unity prevail) – but, rather, pertains to the aforementioned leading edge of spiritual and social evolution, as an embodiment unto itself. Thus, in a sense, America exists in places around the globe, wherever the broad range of new social-spiritual healing impulses have become increasingly active.
This article delves into the New America that pertains to the nature-human relationship. It is about an America projected into the near future. The material was derived and adapted from one of the five Earth Vision e-books, entitled “Gaia Sojourn – spiritual ecology across a series of incarnations” – a volume that explores the nature-human interface in various cultural contexts down through time. “America – facing the threshold” is the chapter in which the Sojourn of Gaia culminates in the present time. For the whole picture, both chapter and volume, refer to Gaia Sojourn, available on the Earth Vision site.

Most people transmit a jumble of conflicting wishes, hopes, and fears. The Self sorts them out and induces a set of experiences that complies with the overall transmission.
If a person can decide and discover clearly what he or she wants, and can project that in a straightforward way, will he or she not enter upon a path of rare power? Related to this, in terms of our relationship with nature, what untold resources wait to be acknowledged, and what new enterprise awaits the guiding hand of those who can deliver this new impulse to the table of holism?

One too often hears the statement these days that it’s hard to believe in the existence of the soul, or the spiritual aspect of life. But such a sentiment can only be very transitory as we continue into the third millennium. Such a statement, during this time of spiritual acceleration, can have only a very short future.
If we turn the sentiment on its ear, we arrive at the notion that it’s hard to believe in the existence of matter, a consideration that bears more credibility, especially when we examine how scientists have probed deeply into matter only to discover a Void-like emptiness pregnant with an energetic force. Given leading edge research, how can matter prove to be other than an illusionary sleight of mind?
But then, on the other hand, it is also possible that matter is a masterpiece of godly intent.
Or, perhaps, it may well prove to be both, and, speaking of godly intent, we may also find that we have more to do with this matter than we know.

In the spring wind of a new year, a sergeant of the marsh, the red-winged blackbird, stations itself on a cattail perch. And the songbird of our elation sails over a forest of intent, locked in the talon of hawk-disillusion. A sandpiper drills holes into the sand-shore of memory, its beak an injection, a portal to images of distant vistas where the soul has traversed. And a pine siskin alights its tiny frame atop a grand coniferous reverie and exclaims its chee-ee-rr, over and over in the morning light, as it mines an insectine breakfast between the petals of spruce cone resolve. Across the segue of nature a floral palette blooms as, one stitch at a time, the quilt of Primavera fashions its eruptive season. Meanwhile, in an invisible cloak tailored by ingenuity, coyote, the rebel drifter, picks his way through the tall grass, paws of stealth treading a silent rhythm, an ancient pattering quest in counterpoint to modernity.

We live in a world that represents reality.
Thought, as we experience it, is the shadow of spirit. We cannot know spirit through thought, just as we cannot know a thing by its shadow.

The spiritual world is descending into materiality, instigating transformation. The time is upon us now to develop spiritual eyes again, although we’ll need a different form of clairvoyance than that once commonly known in the distant past. Long ago, it was dreamlike, a twilit form of seeing. Now, we are compelled to cultivate a clear, wakeful forum, functioning with a pure heart and untroubled mind.

If you’re looking to redecorate your living room by adding a contemporary and timeless look, consider adding new pieces of furniture. Easier than looking for new housing, redecorating can be a fun and worthwhile project that gives you a chance to change the look of your home. I’m not going to lie, shopping for the perfect furniture pieces can be a time consuming task, but it can be a lot of fun. There are plenty of furnishing options out there that will give your home a refreshing, contemporary feel without you having to go toward the modern sterilization route. In this three-part series, I’ll introduce you to the beauty that is contemporary furniture for your living room, dining room and bedroom.

Let’s start with the main room of your home, the living room. Living room furniture is supposed to illustrate a welcoming look for both you and your guests. Since we’re looking to add a modern dash of style to your home, it’s best to opt for something comfortable, simple, and a bit of color wouldn’t hurt. Couches like the ones from the Shelby Collection found on Eco-Furniture.com offer wide, soft box cushions and defining style that easily fits well in any home. And if you can afford it, it’s not a bad idea to purchase matching love seats and ottomans. Unless you’re an advanced level interior decorator who knows how to mix and match furniture pieces for an eclectic look, it’s probably best for you to stick with matching pieces and case goods.

Living room accessories like coffee tables, end tables and consoles will add to the new look of your home. If it’s a clean look that you desire, you simply can’t go wrong with dark wood. Dark wood or stained wood furniture has been a popular trend in the furniture market over the past few years. The Soho Black Ash Living Room Collection, which can also be found on Eco-Furniture.com, is an excellent example of this beautiful trend. Creating an avant-garde look that won’t go out of style anytime soon, dark wood can be tricky but sophisticated feature for your home. Best kept for a few key furniture pieces like coffee tables, dining tables and dining chairs, too much dark wood can give your home a darkened appearance. With that said, it’s a good idea to limit just how much dark wood you want in your home.

Another solution you may want to consider when investing in a deep hue furniture item is finding one that’s been paired with glass. Glass adds an elegant aesthetic to just about anything, and pairing it with wood gives it an ethereal look, considering that wood is a very solid element.

Remember, just because it’s contemporary doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be minimal in style. Modern furniture doesn’t have to be intimidating; it can be just as welcoming as your mom’s old matronly, yet comfy couch. In our next installment, we’ll go ahead and talk about creating a contemporary flair to your dining room.

The Dallas World Aquarium is actually much more than an aquarium though it’s name suggests differently. It houses a variety of animals-mostly those from tropical areas of the world- in their natural habitat in a series of specially designed eco-systems. This makes the visitors feel as if they are walking around the world as they experience the different plant life and climate of various locations from all over the globe.

Visitors can usually choose their own path around the complex allowing them to spend more time on the animals that intrigue them the most. There are four main sections of the zoo each one representing a different eco-system. One represents the ocean and is a huge salt water aquarium, a rainforest, the South American Rainforest, a series of South African Biomes and the centerpiece is no doubt the Mundo Maya exhibit which shows the gradual progression of biomes from the Highland Rainforest to the sea of the Yucatan Gulf in Central America.

The two most interesting exhibits are the aquarium and the Mundo Maya complex though the other two are breathtaking as well. The aquarium represents the waters of four continents, three oceans and various seas; the aquarium gives a glimpse of the underwater world. The exhibit has more than 85,000 gallons (321,800 l) of saltwater with marine life from around the world. Tourists can walk through the 22,000-gallon (83,280 l) tunnel to experience a panoramic view of reef life. Many animals found at the top of the food chain can be seen in the Predators exhibit. Ten 2,000-gallon (7,571 l) displays present marine life from around the world – Palau, Southern Australia, Lord Howe Island, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Bahamas, British Columbia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Japan.

Mundo Maya is an eight-story, immersion exhibit that takes visitors from the waters of the Yucatan’s gulf coast to the highland rainforests. This great culture believed that nature did not need to be conquered or subdued. Many plants and animals were given important roles in their daily lives. The land of the ancient Maya included the countries of modern day Belize and Guatemala, the western parts of Honduras and El Salvador, and five Mexican states (Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Campeche and Chiapas).

There are of course many Dallas hotels that offer access to sights and sounds of the city and are conveniently located. The decision making factor for a tourist when staying at a hotel in Dallas would be the price, cheaper accommodation is available at a number of motels and lodges while, some star class hotels offer guests and especially business travelers with many facilities.

The island is rich in natural resources and its vast terrain tantalizes eco-adventurers of all types. The island has been designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO for this reason. Thanks to this special status, Gran Canaria will remain an ecological preserve for the rest of its days. It also ensures harmonious balance between nature and the interests of man.

Gran Canaria is the third largest of the Canary Islands archipelago. Located 130 miles off the African coast, it has been a Spanish territory since the 15th century. The island bears a rich history dating back to 500 B.C. This is when it was first inhabited by the Canarios. Traces of their culture still remain throughout the Canary Islands.

The island has a year-round population of about 800,000. However, tourism boosts the number closer to a million or more at any given time. Close to one half of the island’s regular residents live in the capital city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The rest of its residents are scattered throughout the island’s 21 municipalities and 1552 square kilometers.

While its beaches may be its top tourist draw, Gran Canaria is also known for its breathtaking volcanoes. In fact, the island itself is of volcanic origin. Its numerous fissure vents make this fact evident to visitors and residents alike.

An aerial view reveals that volcanic craters or calderas dot the surface of the island. One of these is the Caldera de Bandama, dating back to 20 B.C. Though it is one of the island’s smaller ones, the caldera covers a staggering one kilometer and a depth of 200 meters. Originally a double cinder cone, the caldera formed later on. Caldera de los Marteles is another of the island’s astounding sites. This crater formed over 100,000 years ago and now appears as a lush, green circular field.

Additional ecological gems include the island’s 290 caves located in the Cenobio de Valeron. This preserve is actually a massive basaltic arch. Inside, early setters known as the Guanche excavated caves and cubicles. These excavations still stand after centuries of time.

The caves, once a storage area for the Guanche, are now a major piece of Gran Canaria’s history. Cueva Pintada is another of the island’s famous caves. It may be the most important seat of Guanche history.

Located in the town of Galdar, it was once the center for ancient rulers. Its spectacular paintings gave the cave its name. Because of erosion the cave was closed to the public several years ago. However, tourists can visit the cave virtually at the Cueva Pintada museum. They can also view artifacts recovered from inside the caves’ many rooms.

Gran Canaria is a treasure trove of mountains, sand dunes and ancient monoliths. The terrain is diverse and offers opportunities for sightseeing by automobile, bicycle and foot.

Its dozens of species of protected flora and fauna beckon nature-lovers of all types. Holidaymakers looking for a unique eco-tourism experience won’t be disappointed with a Gran Canaria holiday.
